Zim's rack 8 ball league is an independent pool league, not directly associated with any amusement or gaming company.

Zim's Rack 8 Ball League (ZR8) was formed in 2005 to offer a fair, more rewarding league for players and bar owners. We take pride in having an accurate and fair handicap system with multiple tiers to help create a more even playing field for all skill levels.

We have three session per year Spring, Summer, and Winter. Our sessions fall in line with the ACS calendar year. We have many divisions available to play in, both traveling and in house, with divisions divided by small geographical areas, allowing the players a shorter distance of travel on a weekly basis.

A unique handicap and scoring system is used to calculate individual and team standings. W run around a 16 week regular session schedule and about 3 weeks of play offs with 90% of payout going to regular session and 10% going to play offs. We feel that it removes the desire for players to sandbag and encourages them to want to improve their skill level.

Teams have up to 8 players on their roster, but only 4 will play each weekly match. Three (3) of the four (4) must be AMATEUR (Open or Standard ACS) skill level players and the fourth player may be AMATEUR, ADVANCED, MASTER or PRO skill level.

ZR8 is sanctioned with the American CueSports Alliance (ACS) and our players have the opportunity to participate in ALL ACS sanctioned events. Including ACS Illinois State, Regional and Nationals in Las Vegas without going through a local qualifying process with multiple entry fees and tournaments.

ZR8 LEAGUE LOCAL EVENTS

REGULAR SESSIN WITH PLAY-OFFS

Each session will have a Regular session payout and a Play-Offs payout at the end of the session. Regular session receives 90% of the payout and the Play-Offs receive 10% of payout. Each Division Play-Off will be split into two (2) divisions, Division A consisting of the top 50% of teams and Division B consisting of bottom 50% of teams in the division.

SESSION SINGLES AND TEAM EVENTS

We have a Singles event and an All -Star event as wells as a Session Team Championship (STC) for each of the Spring and Winter sessions. Doubles, Scotch Doubles and other singles events will be scheduled throughout the sessions as well.

MVP of the YEAR TOURNAMENT

At the end of each year we will have a tournament for all of the top 2 players on the MVP list from each division from both Winter and Spring sessions. Each MVP will receive a free entry fee in this event. This event will have ADDEND MONEY based on overall participation.

END OF SESSION BANQUETS AND TOURNAMENTS

At the end of each session we will have a league banquet with awards, announcements and a Singles Tournament for the players.

SINGLES FORMAT IN HOUSE DIVISIONS

We also offer the same great benefits as the Team Format, but in a Singles Format. Matches on a 1 player vs 1 player, 5 games, ball count and handicapped. These are ACS sanctioned and the weekly fees may differ than the Team Format. This is a great format to introduce ZR8 League to new areas and to also allow players to get ACS sanctioned if they prefer to play alone than in a team environment. Players that play in the Singles Format divisions are eligible for the same benefits as those playing in a Team Format division.

ACS STATE, MIDWEST AND NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Our league players will also be sanctioned with the American Cue Sports (ACS) and be eligible to participate in all of the events listed below. Players will NOT have to play in multiple levels of qualifier tournaments to qualify to participate in an ACS event. You must be in good standing with ZR8 (no late fees, no unsportsmanlike conduct write ups, etc.) and have the required minimum amount of weeks played that the event requires. If a player or team is interested in participating in an ACS event, simply register and pay the required entry fees and travel expenses on your own. The ACS calendar year runs from June1 - May 31. The earlier in the season the event is scheduled, the less amount of weeks of play required.

NO FEES WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM ZR8 DIVISION PAYOUTS TO CONTRIBUTE TO ACS EVENTS.

More info for each event will be available as it's released.

ZR8 LEAGUE COMMITTEE

As our league continues to grow, as League Operators we must grow with it. We have a committee to assist with the growth opportunities.
The purpose of this committee is to generate a more accurate flow of information between League Operators and League Members. This includes league events, meetings, comments, and any information and ideas that may help the growth of ZR8 League. The committee will discuss any modifications to rules, handicap system, and other items.
The committee will meet at least once each season and maintain a consistent flow of communication among each other during the sessions.
As we grow as a league, other members will be invited to the committee.
